Frequently asked questions

How many bags of cement are needed for a 1,000 sq ft house?

About 457 bags for a 1,000 sq ft ground-floor RCC house with brick walls: 348 bags for the RCC, 21 bags for brickwork, 35 bags for plaster and 52 bags for PCC. That is 0.46 bags per sq ft. Tile bedding and screeds are extra.

How much cement is used per sq ft of construction?

About 0.4 to 0.5 bags per sq ft of built-up area for an RCC-framed brick house. Our typical G+1 house comes to 0.4 bags per sq ft, or 19.8 kg.

How many bags of cement are in 1 cubic metre of M20 concrete?

About 8.1 bags for a nominal 1:1.5:3 mix measured by volume, and about 7 bags for a design mix batched by weight (IS 10262). Ready-mix plants and good sites use design mixes, which need less cement for the same strength.

How much cement is needed for 100 sq ft of plaster?

About 0.67 bags for 12 mm internal plaster in 1:6, and 1.57 bags for 20 mm external plaster in 1:4, with 10% added for uneven walls.

How many cement bags make 1 cubic metre?

About 28.8 bags of 50 kg, taking loose cement at 1,440 kg per cum. One bag is about 0.0347 cum, or 1.23 cft.

How do I get the exact cement quantity for my building?

From a BOQ measured from your drawings: the concrete, brickwork and plaster quantities of every element, each multiplied by its mix. These estimates use typical quantities for an RCC-framed house.

Need exact quantities, not thumb rules?

Send your drawings and we measure the concrete, brickwork and plaster of every element, with the cement, sand and steel, in an Excel BOQ. BOQs start from ₹2,500 per project.
