SiteSetu Videos: BOQ, BBS, Billing and Cost Explainers
Short videos, most under a minute, that explain a BOQ, a bar bending schedule, an RA bill, a measurement book and 2026 shuttering rates, plus a few on how the SiteSetu desk turns drawings into a measured BOQ. Each one links to the written guide with the format and worked examples.

BOQ basics
A BOQ lists every work item with its unit, quantity, rate and amount, and one measured BOQ serves the quote, the bills and the comparison of contractors.
One drawing, one measured BOQ: quote, bill and compare
Every item on the drawing is measured, modelled floor by floor in 3D and traced back to its sheet. The checked BOQ is then used three ways: to quote the full scope, to bill as per drawing, and to compare contractors on one BOQ.
BBS and steel
A BBS lists every bar by shape, diameter, cutting length, count and weight; it is what you order steel against and check deliveries with.

BBS before the steel order
AI-generated presenter
A BBS from your GFC drawings lists bar marks, cutting lengths and kg by diameter, so the steel order is not a guess. For one Delhi basement house it came to 17,470 kg from footings to plinth.

BBS full form: bar bending schedule and steel weight
BBS stands for bar bending schedule: a bar-by-bar list of shape, diameter, cutting length, count and weight. Steel weight is about D²/162 kg per metre (D in mm), so a 12 mm bar 6 m long weighs about 5.33 kg.

Billing and measurement
An RA bill pays for work measured so far, and the measurement book is the dated record behind every quantity in it.

Monthly billing desk: MB, RA bill and BBS
AI-generated presenter
The billing desk prepares your measurement book, RA bill and BBS every month from your drawings and site records, so the RA bill is not stuck on measurements at month end. Every quantity is traceable for item-by-item review.
RA bill in construction: running account bill explained
An RA (running account) bill is an interim bill for work measured so far: this bill = up-to-date value − previous bills. In the worked example, ₹1,40,000 − ₹1,00,000 = ₹40,000, and ₹4,000 of deductions leave ₹36,000 payable.

Measurement book (MB): format and a worked entry
A measurement book (MB) is the dated site record of every measurement behind a bill. The worked PCC entry is 4 × 2.00 × 2.00 × 0.15 = 2.400 m³, with any deductions entered as separate lines.

Costs and rates
Rates in these videos are indicative 2026 figures from SiteSetu's guides; each guide shows its sources and what moves a local quote.
Shuttering rate per sq ft (2026): slab, beam and column
Indicative 2026 shuttering rates per sq ft of concrete contact area are slab ₹40–60, beam ₹50–70 and column ₹60–80 with the contractor's plates and props, or ₹20–23 for labour only. Height, transport and repetition move local quotes.
